Today is the Super Bowl and my friends in The Dream Intended, who are from Pittsburgh, are really excited. Last night I was hanging out with a couple of guys from Idaho who are in the bands Self Conclusion and Zombie at Heart. Just a few weeks ago I sat in on the recording sessions of Table 21 from Queens. Why does this matter?

So I decided to write a bit about Ska Music.
I am not sure what my feeling on it is anymore.
I was first introduced when I was younger - 14 or 15. My dad had introduced me to the Specials back then, and I had also stumbled across the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. But it wasn't until I started to go to shows and my friends started to pick up instruments that I really began listening - 3 Day Weekend, the original Patent Pending, High School Football Heroes, etc.
I even played ska in a band called Kids Eat Free - though we didn't always have horns with us.

I wanted to write a little bit to kind of give you information whether you are in a band, or have a friend in a band, how to be careful with promoters...especially when traveling outside of the state.

If you ever book a show outside of a state (which I highly recommend doing - it is how you could become famous quickly)

I thought it would be good to post my 2008 top 10 list here, since this is what this site really is all about.

10. The All American Rejects - When the World Comes Down
Alright, so this record did just come out. It sounds similar to their old stuff, like, original record. I think some of the songs are very poppy, but in a different sound then the radio. They tried some new things. However, I feel as if the production value could be equal to a local band.
9. Anberlin - New Surrender

I am very excited to be doing this new project with my good friend Chris.
This could really take off, and if it does, it will be all thanks to you guys.

I am hoping to give something to the Long Island scene that has really been my home for so long.
